A developer, designer and 3D-artist hybrid with a passion for martial arts, adventures and learning new things.

My name is Niklas Björklund, a 27 year old guy who lives in Stockholm, Sweden. I work in the IT industry and have done so since my graduation from the university back in 2009. At the university I studied computer graphics with focus on 3D-modelling, animation and post-production, but also to some extent programming and scripting. With a bachelor's degree in computer science I headed into the world of information technology.

I started my journey in Dublin, Ireland where I received a job as a customer support representative. Not exactly what I studied and aimed to work with in the first place, but it was here my interest for programming, finding creative solutions and having a good relationship with customers started to develop. As my knowledge and experience grew I transferred to a more technical teams, before I decided it was time to move on to be able to keep developing myself and further increase my knowledge.

After a few years abroad I moved back to Sweden and Stockholm to continue my professional life. I started to work as a system engineer in the telecom industry, working daily with interconnect billing and mediation systems. This involved everything from database administration, business intelligence to support and implementation of the in-house applications.

Today I work at a company called Snow Software one of the largest dedicated developers of software asset management solutions. I work within the development team as the 3rd line manager with the main responsibility of our maintenance releases. A stimulating job which includes a lot of software and database programming, but also more advanced support and planning of our product maintenace releases.

From my years in the IT industry I gained experience and skills from working in an international environment, both within larger and smaller corporates. Where customer focus is always a key ingredient along with a wide technical competence and the ability to handle stressful situations. I believe because of that experience, I have the ability to handle stress in a good manner, take own initiatives and come up with creative new solutions, also to have a good communication both with customers and with colleagues.
